Please join us November 14-16 for the Midtown Marriage Retreat!
Our goal as a church for 2019 has been to honor marriage (Heb 13:4: Let marriage be held in honor among all…). Scripture plainly commands us to set apart marriages in a unique way. We are to view them in the light of covenant, companionship, and the gospel. This kind of honoring takes time and thoughtfulness. So, we carved out some time!
A major goal of the weekend is to provide refreshment. When we say ‘retreat’ we mean it. There will, of course, be times of teaching and discussion (see rough itinerary below) but we don’t want to over-program it or exhaust you. The basic invite goes something like this, “Take time with your spouse to remember your love for one another, to reestablish patterns of healthy commitment and to enjoy each others companionship.”
Let me encourage you to join us. Married 2 years? Join us. Married 52 years? Please, please join us. If watching your (grand!?)children is an issue. Ask us for help. If money is an issue, ask. We’ll help. If time off work is an issue, pray about it and see if you can make it work. Appeal to your boss. If you fear cutting through the growing coldness of the last months/years of marriage then you should definitely come! We’ll love you right in the midst of it.
The weekend will cost $299 per couple to attend if you register before September 15th ($329 after until October 15th). That isn’t a small amount of money and we know that. But it’s worth it. First, you get a good amount of value from the money. The fee includes:
